The benefits associated with a travel assignment may vary from assignment to assignment. First, the salary for a travel assignment is usually higher than a regular non-travel assignment. Your living expenses (housing, utilities, etc.) are either paid for entirely or you are given a monthly allowance to spend as you see fit. In addition, your health insurance is usually paid for and you are reimbursed for your travel expenses. Some positions even offer bonuses either at the start of the assignment or at the end.
