What are the benefits of a high-fibre diet?
A high-fiber diet is great in many aspects. First off, there are two kinds of fiber: Soluble and insoluble. Both help you stay full longer, like protein, so they are like an appetite suppresent. Soluble fiber helps lower LDL cholesterol (The bad one). Insoluble fiber helps clean your system in a sense, which is why it is often seen as a laxative. This is beneficial because it helps prevent many kinds of cancers such as intestinal and colon. Also, fiber has been said to clear skin, because it cleanses and gets rid of some of the oils that create blemishes such as acne. The two downsides to high fiber are that fiber is a laxative, so you’ll fart and poop more, and that fiber should not be consumed at the same time that medication or vitamins are taken, because fiber can interfere with the absorption of the meds or vitamins.
