Having a drainage system has many advantages. It can control erosion, remove surface water that may destroy turf and attract mosquito infestation. It provides increased aeration in the root zone, and increased supply of available plant food. It also decreases damage due to freezing. Frost heaving can raise and buckle sidewalks and hard scapes.
