What are the benefits and restraints of videoconferencing; why should we use it?
Videoconferencing overcomes the costly and sometimes impractical element of travel. It enables more people to participate in classes and meetings. It can reach into far remote areas that would not normally have access to your resources and it can bring to you, the resources from those people in far remote areas. Videoconferencing will not substitute for all face-to-face meetings but it can reduce their frequency and result in savings in time, travel and accommodation costs. It also adds a visual dimension not available over the telephone.
