Benefits: fewer bugs, less crop damage, reduced disease vectors. Drawbacks: Anything done to poison insects will work its way up the food chain. Genetic engineering opens pandora’s box. ANYTHING can happen when you play with genes. Sterilization is expensive. Food Irradiation destroys food value as well as destructive organisms. IMP is a reasonable alternative to just letting nature take its course.
