What are the benchmarks for successful direct marketing in the bricks-and-mortar retail store industry?
According to the National Retail Federation, bricks and mortar retailers spend 24% of their marketing budget on direct marketing programs (and 3.5% of sales on marketing overall). I’m researching an idea for a new technology startup and want to learn about the benchmarks for success in driving foot traffic and/or purchase activity. Direct marketing seems to be one of the most important tools for doing that, so would really appreciate having the benefit of some expert insight. Thanks!
