What are the beliefs of FBC?
First Baptist Church of Mount Olive adopts the Baptist Faith and Message, 1963 as a basic confession of faith and doctrine. This is not a creed, but a rather a confession that we gladly share. In summary, our Christian beliefs include: God is experienced as Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and our authority for living. All believers are priests, that is, every Christian is free to access God and interpret scripture under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The local church is an autonomous body of Christians who are a part of the universal Body of Christ. Both male and female are gifted and called to Christian ministry as God chooses. Every Christian is called and gifted to serve in ministry to others.
