What are the basic instructions to be followed before investigations?

0

Always carry all the previous investigations done, discharge card, operative notes or any relevant information regarding the problem for which investigation is being done. It is always better to call and take an appointment before coming for investigation. This way if there will be specific instructions for investigation required, it can be conveyed to the patient. Doctor/ receptionist should be informed if the patient is pregnant or there is suspicion of pregnancy. There should preferably be an accompanying relative / friend when coming for investigation.
