What are the basic beliefs of Islam?

• Believing in Allah. We believe that there is no deity other than Allah and that the Muhammad is a messenger of Allah. The word “Allah” in Arabic literally means “God”. God in Islam is omnipotent and He is the creator of whole universe, his creation encompasses the past, current and future. God is beyond any imagination and he is beyond anything in the universe in resemblance. He is known through His attributes, which we have already mentioned few of them, and His Names. In Islam, there are 99 names of God revealed to humanity. All names of God have infinite sense, for instance He is Rahim (The Gracious), which means that His Grace is infinite and more than anybody’s grace. Also it means that all grace in universe is originated from His Grace. Some names of God can be understood by their manifestations upon us, such as The Gracious, yet some names cannot be comprehended, such as Halik (The Creator) or Hayy (The Giver of Life), since we cannot create something from nothing or give life
