What are the basic beliefs in Buddhism?

0

The only real ‘belief’ in Buddhism is the faith Buddhists have in the teachings of the Buddha. The rest can all be verified by your own experience. In fact, the Buddha said “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” Not many people know that the Buddha in fact took a very scientific approach to life. The core of Buddhism consists of the four noble truths and the eightfold path. The four noble truths are: 1. Life ultimately comes down to suffering 2. This suffering is caused by egoistical craving 3. Therefore, the suffering ends when the egoistical craving ends 4. This can be achieved by following the eightfold path.
