The barcode imager engine in all XP20 and XP30 devices has the ability to read and decode both 1D and 2D barcodes. 1D scanning capability is a standard feature on all XP Series configurations and all devices can easily be field-upgraded to scan 2D barcodes. Janam’s 2D Scan Unlock (2D-XP-1) can be purchased as an upgrade to enable 2D scanning at any time.
