What are the bad and good influence of television on its viewer?
The negative and positive factors of childhood television watching are numerous. I will attempt here to present a small fraction of answers from both sides of the coin. Pro: Television has a definite educational affect upon children. That is if the right age-approprate shows are viewed. Pure mindless entertainment is useless. Secondly, if the right shows are viewed they are very informative concerning news and the instillation of social/ethical values. Con: Television presents many unwholesome attitudes about sexuality, violence, and ethics that may psychologically influence people who have less discernment between reality and fantasy. Secondly, television damages mental focus and attention skills over time.
