What are the background screening requirements for independent contractors?

0

Independent contractors who enter the home of patients must have a Level 1 Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) background screening submitted within 5 working days after the contractor begins working. A copy of the screening results is filed in the independent contractors file at the nurse registry. The managing employee of each nurse registry must sign an affidavit annually, under penalty of perjury, stating that all personnel hired or contracted with or registered on or after October 1, 2000, who enter the home of a patient or client in their service capacity have been screened.
