What are the Bach Flowers?
The Bach flowers (1) are a flower essence system of thirty-eight flower essences prepared from English flowers. They are used for balancing and clearing specific mental states. This system of flower essences discovered by Dr. Edward Bach (pronounced ‘Ba-che’), in the 1930’s revolutionized this type of alternative therapy. Dr. Bach was a licensed doctor, bacteriologist and homeopathic physician. His research, including a thirty-ninth remedy called Rescue Remedy (2) (a composite formula), has been clinically tested extensively in both Europe and the United States during the past 60 years. Listed in the Official English Homeopathic Pharmacoepia, the Bach Flowers and other flower essences have unequivocally established the correlation between disturbed mental/emotional states and physical disease.
