What are the average wind speeds in the arctic tundra?
The arctic tundra can be anywhere in Canada, Greenland, Norway, Sweden, Finland or Russia. The vicinity of the sea or mountain ranges can vary very much the average wind. Coastlines can generate sea breezes and mountains can generate katabatic and anabatic winds. Those can even reach storm force as it does, sometimes along the west coast of Greenland. But otherwise, both poles are cold and since cold air sinks, they are regions of high pressures. And in a high pressure, there is very little wind.
