It depends upon the company you work for, which I suspect is true of most occupations. We do have a couple of people who work part-time, at 30 hrs/week, and it is not unheard of for people in private industry to put in >80 hr/wk. The normal work week for folks in my division at NASA is 40-45 hours. Any time we put in over 40 hours we store in a vacation bank, and we can take the time as leave later on. Nice benefit!
