What are the assets of the Three Rivers Arts Festival?
I’d say one asset is its legacy. Lots of people have grown up with it, sent their children to it and have incredible memories of it. Since I’ve taken this job, people who I didn’t know lived in Pittsburgh or are from Pittsburgh have said, “Oh, I worked there as a kid,” or “I saw such-and-such band there.” It’s also incredibly accessible, especially with the kind of lineup there is of performances. I love the idea of the different art elements, too — the craft element, the visual element, the photography element. And I know those elements will always remain, hopefully bringing in a wider group of artists to choose from while maintaining the spirit that people have always liked.
