What are the assets of Central New York and surrounding areas?
The assets of Central New York are many and undervalued and overlooked, dwarfed by the attention to NYC. They include such outstanding natural beauty as lush hardwood forests, steep to rolling hills and valleys, major (and enormous) lakes and rivers everywhere, miles of beaches, and endless greenery. There are wineries, farms, and logging. Many opportunities for sportfishing, sailing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, riding, hunting, and exploring, skiing, snowmobiling, and other winter sports. Fall leaf colors, real maple syrup. From an historical standpoint, there are mansions and countless examples of colonial and other types of interesting architectural homes and public buildings. It is a place where Revolutionary battles were fought, where women’s rights were first proposed and fought for, several Industrial revolution patents came from, and where many businesses got their start. The origin of our country is well respected and well represented here. Independence and hard work are names
