What are the application deadlines?
There are THREE application deadlines. An applicant should submit according to the appropriate deadline for the period of year he/she wishes to begin the project at the Smithsonian. The deadlines are as follows: For spring appointments beginning January – May, deadline is postmark November 15. For summer appointments beginning May – August, deadline is postmark February 1. For fall appointments beginning September-December, deadline is postmark June 1.
BCA encourages interested students to apply as soon as possible to get the process in motion. Applications for the spring semester are due by November 1 (October 15 to be guaranteed a place on the group flight arranged by BCA). Fall semester applications are due by April 15. Students are notified of their acceptance within three weeks of submitting a complete application.
A. All applications from Home and EU students should be made before 15 January 2009 to guarantee equal academic consideration. The official UCAS deadline for applications from overseas candidates is 30 June 2009. However, due to intense competition for places we would encourage candidates to apply as early as possible, ideally by the end of January 2009. Applications received after this date will be treated on a case by case basis, depending on availability.
