Here are some aliases a 2Wire may respond to from a web browser: »gateway.2wire.net »home »homeportal »officeportal »igateway »bthomenetwork1200 »dsldevice These short-name addresses will only work if you have your computers set to resolve DNS names through the 2Wire (the default). If you have hard-coded external DNS servers in to your computer then the 2Wire’s DNS resolver is bypassed and the short-names will not work. You can either hardcode external DNS servers into the 2Wire’s options and resume using the 2Wire as the DNS server, or you can create your own short-name mapings in your local HOST file.
