What are the aims of teachers/staff who use Quality Circle Time?
Quality Circle Time builds the self-esteem of each participant and encourages pupils to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. It therefore has impact in many areas of school life including: * Individual motivation and achievement * Enhancing positive relationships * Personal and social development * Producing calm behaviour and self-discipline Motivation and achievement A growing body of knowledge arising from the work of Peter Salovey, Howard Gardner and others brought together in Daniel Goleman’ s book ‘Emotional Intelligence’, points towards the importance of positive self-esteem in the learning process.
