What are the advantages to using a full-service company such as Insight versus a company offering a “surgeon-directed” model?
A full-service neuromonitoring model is advantageous in a few ways. First, it allows for remote monitoring of the surgery by one of Insight’s board-certified neurologists. Our neurologist can view the waveform data and work with the operating surgeon to aide in decision-making. Second, the monitoring equipment is run by Insight’s experienced clinicians (and not the surgeon). This important difference means the surgeon can concentrate 100% of his or her focus and time on the surgery he or she is performing while letting the Insight clinician handle the monitoring duties. Third, being a full-service company means we are fully-insured.
