What are the advantages to submitting legal disputes to arbitration instead of going to court?
With the right arbitrator (or panel of arbitrators if you choose to have three instead of one), you should be able to resolve a legal dispute faster and more cost-effectively. Where court cases can take years, arbitrating a case can reduce that time to months or less. Perhaps most importantly, because arbitration is a creature of contract, you can negotiate the terms under which the arbitration will proceed. In that way, it is the parties, and not the courts, who keep control of the dispute resolution process.
