WolfVision’s camera electronics produce very strong and stable images. This is VERY IMPORTANT for video conferencing, because the more stable the output of a document camera is, the faster it can be digitized and transferred by the CODEC of a video conferencing system. All video conferencing systems compress live images in order to minimize the transmission time. Normally they first transfer one full picture and then only the information which has changed from the previous picture. However if a document camera outputs unstable images, there are many changes between the individual pictures which take up a long time to compress and transfer. If the difference between the individual images is too big the CODEC of a video conferencing system thinks it is a completely new picture and transfers a whole image instead of a “differential image”.
