What are the advantages of the HR Business Partner role?
I have found that the HR Business Partner can form a close relationship with the Directorate or Department supported and so help to tailor support and advice to service need. Whilst maintaining very close links with central HR services the Business Partner can also act as a conduit/sounding board for planned change and initiatives. These links have helped the teams that I have managed to develop flexible approaches within overall policy and this was particularly evident in Children’s Services at the South London and Maudesly Foundation Trust where cost reductions were achieved whilst improving services through a more flexible approach to role design. Organisation Development and Change Management can be better aligned with service need through first-hand intelligence and advice from the Business Partner.
