AEA procedures recognize that AECs are dedicated to serving students at risk of dropping out of school [TEC§29.081(d)] and evaluate AECs on different indicators from those used under standard accountability procedures. Chapter 10 of the Accountability Manual describes in detail the AEA indicators.
