Rubber is used in so many things like tires, shoes, hoses, medical equipment etc. Real rubber is in short supply so it was necessary to find a way to make synthetic rubber to meet demand. Petroleum products are used in the process. Growing real rubber can provide a good income because of demand, is healthier for the environment than synthesizing it, and it doesn’t require depletion of petroleum. There are also experiments being done to create a kind of hybrid rubber which will not cause allergic reactions in people that are sensitive.
