What are the advantages of buying an unstretched painting?
Unstretched paintings are safer to transport and cost less than stretched paintings. Most of The Brazen Eye’s paintings are shipped rolled and unstretched. This method is much safer for these large paintings and results in substantial savings for you. Very large, pre-stretched paintings can be hundreds of dollars to ship. When you receive one of these huge paintings, you can either take it to a frame shop to have it stretched or you can do it yourself, which is easy and inexpensive—between $10 and $35, usually. If you do take your painting to a frame shop, call around first—we’ve found quotes from under $100 to over $600 (!!!) for a 6’ x 4’.
