It is, however, very unwise and quite risky from a liability standpoint, to operate an uncoordinated repeater. Coordination offers you some very important and valuable protections. First, interference complaints between an uncoordinated machine and a properly coordinated machine are always decided in favor of the coordinated machine. This is standard FCC policy. Second, the very nature of the coordination process that must be followed by the Coordinator, assures the best possible protection you can get against interference from other coordinated, co-channel repeaters.
