The advantages of Early Action/Early Decision are that, obviously, you know what college you are going to far ahead of time. This is quite good, because everybody else in on the edge for three months waiting for their acceptance letters to come in the mail. Disadvantage of Early Decision is that the college forces you to go there if they accept you. This can be bad if, say, the college gives you no financial aid. Then you’re forced to go a school and figure out how to pay for it. So you had better know you really want to go there, no matter what.
