What are the advantages of an IGS concentration?
For students excited about engaging in discussions, debate, and learning about global issues and international affairs with other academically talented students, the IGS major allows them to take the most relevant courses from a host of different departments, while achieving a well-rounded liberal arts degree. Students become proficient in at least one other language and are strongly encouraged to study abroad. The IGS community offers connections to a wide range of professionals already working in related fields, internships, and opportunities to be actively involved in a variety of campus activities. What if I want to do something international, but I dont really know whats possible? One of the strengths of IGS is the quality of advising students receive. IGS students have access to professional Interdisciplinary Studies advisors and to the IGS Advisory Council.
