Before actualy getting a divorce, it may be very helpful to just have a temporary separation. A separation which has rules for you and your spouse, where you decide you are going to have time apart to think about things, to disengage, to decrease the tension , decrease the intensity in the home and take stock of what you really have. For many people a separation allows them to think more clearly.
