What are the advantages of a PCORE PRC Bushing?
PRC bushings are vacuum-impregnated with epoxy resin which provides a solid, void-free structure not subject to layer separation and, therefore, internal partial discharge as are resin-bonded cores. PRC bushings are totally encapsulated with epoxy resin that is impervious to harmful conductive particle intrusion (ex. water, carbon, etc.) unlike the surfaces of varnished paper cores, which crack due to aging. The PRC has an excellent dielectric system that has a stable power factor with high mechanical strength and superior thermal conductivity. PRC bushings have been in service for over 40 years with excellent field service performance.
