What are the advantages/disadvantages of installing inhouse HR System versus an ASP model?
Besides the cost aspect, an ASP model would help standardize HR processes as the system would be hosted and maintained by a third party service provider who cannot be bullied to tamper the processes according to everyone’s whims and fancies or pulls and pressures of political heavy weights in all organizations….or at least the company would have to seriously weigh the benefits and costs of any change to existing HR processes. Additionally the service provider would bring in best practies in Operational HR from a wide swathe of industry and the inhouse HR departments can focus on the more strategic work like organizational development, alignment and morale.
