What are the advantages/disadvantages of having slab vs raised foundation in SoCal?
My husband and I looked at a house today which had a raised foundation. I think all the places we’ve seen have been slab foundation, so we were a bit thrown off seeing a hole in one of the bedrooms leading to dirt under the house. Also, the house had an addition which was on a slab, and one of the walls was definitely slanted. Is it hard/expensive to fix that kind of thing? This isn’t the first house we’ve seen with an addition that was sinking.
