What are the advantages/disadvantages of cable networking as opposed to wireless?

Wired is Much Faster File Transfer Sharing in Lan Networks but Not Secured and prone to Viruses, Spywares Specially Hackers and Wired means more Cable tangles While Wireless is just the opposite of the Wired, wireless is much safer specially if you are using the latest Router Brand like D-Link, Asus, etc because they uses the strongest multiple security encryption and Firewall, thus slowing your internet connectivity, but not that much because they already have Draft N coverage now increasing the speed of your internet download and uploads, make sure your router is Wireless N Ready as well as your Desktop Adapter…. Hopes this help you a lot… I prefer Wired because i always downloads files and back-up my data On-line, just makes sure you have Firewall installed, Anti-spyware and Updated anti_virus, and more important BACK-UP YOUR IMPORTANT DATA AND FILES.

Cable networking if it is gigabit or 2000mb/s is the fastest you can go and definitely faster than anything wireless. Wireless in some instances can be cheaper and obviously looks much nicer…Wireless suffers the risk of disconnects and other such things so I highly recommend not doing firmware updates of any kind over wireless. Wireless has a current speed cap of 600 mb/s (dual-channel wireless N – commercial grade) Consumer grade has a cap of 300 mb/s and both have a range of no more than 650ft (unless heavily modified) Wireless G is still the standard and is cheap but it’s cap is 54 mb/s then you have Super G which is upto about 160 mb/s but has to use the same hardware on both the adapter and router. Max range of consumer grade – 200 ft. Overall Wireless has its benefits but initial setup for odd configurations can be a nightmare. There are many other things that can be said but I don’t know how technical you’d like to get?
