What are the advantages and the disadvantages of the jury system in nsw??
I don’t know if jury system is any different on New South Wales, but generally they say this about the jury system: 1. : An accused person is tried by his peers, so he is less likely to be “railroaded” bu overzealous judges and officials. Twelve people are more effective at finding out the truth then one judge. 2. Disadvantages: Jury trials tend to take much more time, and are very expensive Juries may not follow the law Juries may be affected by emotions and not by guilt or innocence.
