Hello Katy. ISO 3200 is 3 stops faster than ISO 400. There are two ways to approach low-light (non-flash) photography: A higher ISO or a faster lens. As already stated, a high ISO like 3200 will result in a very grainy image. Sometimes this can be used as an artistic advantage. Your choice of developer will also affect your finished negative. Using a fast (f1.2, f1.4*) lens is also a viable way to shoot in low-light. Lets look at a hypothetical situation using f1.4, f2 and f2.8. Remember, this is for illustration but the f-stop, shutter speed, ISO relationship holds. ISO 400 f1.4 @ 1/30 f2 @ /15 f2.8 @ 1/8 ISO 800 f1.4 @ 1/60 f2 @ 1/30 f2.8 @ 1/15 ISO 1600 f1.4 @ 1/125 f2 @ 1/60 f2.8 @ 1/30 ISO 3200 f1.4 @ 1/250 f2 @ 1/125 f2.8 @ 1/60 The advantage of the f1.4 lens quickly becomes apparent. With an f1.4 lens and ISO 3200 you could possibly stop action in low-light conditions. Enjoy! * An f1.2 lens would be 1/3 stop (33%) faster than f1.4 so at ISO 400 the f1.2 would give a shutter spee
