What are the advantages and disadvantages of growing a plant from a cutting?
The advantages are that you will get a pure copy from the mother (or father) plant and it will cost you next to nothing. It is cloning in its simplest form. Hey, doing your own cloning – cool, huh. The disadvantages are that it can often be difficult to strike cuttings from some plants, indeed some plants it is impossible to take cuttings from. But where it is easy like roses, or ivy or willow etc, then it is the propagation method of choice.
