I think I understand what you are saying. You mean Home recording vs Major studio recording? (record labels generally don’t own major recording studios) You’re comparing a Geo metro with a Benz. A Big studio will likely have a single mic that cost more then a nicely equipped home studio. Vibration proof recording booths, perfectly balanced recording space, a grand Piano, a drum booth, big expensive effects rigs from lexicon, TC electronics, eventide etc. You’re choice of 2 inch analog tape or digital etc. But the main thing it’s going to offer is an engineer. You can take that engineer to your home based studio and he can still make magic happen.
