WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF ANTICYCLONES TO HUMANS?
Anti-Cyclones are weather phenomena that have significantly higher pressure than the corresponding average pressure of the environment. Disadvantages: -Associated with high pressure is that there is dispersal of cloud formation making clearer skies, which allow for greater solar radiation and less protection from harmful UV rays during the day and at night, the absence of clouds means that surface radiation is not absorbed and temperatures will be cooler. This creates a climate of extreme temperatures from day to night. This effect is witnessed in desserts. -Lack of clouds means that there is low precipitation, as well as the phenomena of compressional heating occurring in Anticyclone zones, all add to a dry climate. This is the basis for the formation of desserts, which are poor sites for agricultural based development for humans.
