Kinetic Energy coming from a falling water can be converted to Electrical Energy to run power plants b. People can utilize water effectively. This benefits irrigation of agricultural areas in lowlands. c. Rain water can be stored up into dams for future use. d. Dams are also source of tourism in other countries 2. Disadvantages a. Dams can be cause of flood if the water into it reaches beyond the tolerable level. Sudden release of water from dam causes overflow in rivers and spillway b. Dams can occupy large area when constructed, that’s why rural people lost their agricultural lands.
