Advantages: Low cost energy after the original set up. Wind is a renewable energy. Disadvantages: A massive amount of concrete is used for the turbine bases. New roads are needed to be built for access to install the turbines. Entire forests are cut down where they are built (case in point is Clocaenog forest in North Wales) as the unpredictable turbulence caused by the moving tree branches is bad for the rotor blades and bearings, (Clocaenog is also home to an endangered species of animal, but the entire forest is to be decimated). Bad for people who live near them who have epilepsy (the flickering caused by the moving blades has been proved to increase seizures). The land owners who allow turbines to be built on their land often receive more money than the turbines can produce in electricity, running at full capacity in a year. Much of the energy produced is dumped as surplus, because when the wind blows, other power stations can not reduce their power output. They cause noise pollut
