What are the admissions requirements?
To apply for admission, just follow the four steps described here: 1. Submit an application for admission online and provide your contact information to have an Admissions Advisor contact you, or call us at 800-416-8904. If you apply online, your application will be sent electronically to Stonecliffe College Online. There is a $50 application fee. After you submit your application, Stonecliffe College Online will contact you to complete the remaining steps. 2. Conduct a personal telephone interview with one of our Admissions Advisors. All applicants are required to complete a telephone interview. This interview will give you an opportunity to ask questions about the degree programs that interest you. Interviews are also used to determine whether applicants are qualified to become students at Stonecliffe College Online. Though we do not have a waiting list, entry into the program is competitive. We rely heavily on a strong science background. The minimum requirement for entry into the Dental Hygiene program is a 2.7 GPA in math/science and pre-requisite courses and a 2.5 overall GPA. We break down the requirement and calculate GPA in the manner and categories described below: • Math/Science GPA is the most important beacause we are looking for students with a strong science background. All Math and Science courses taken ona college/university level are separated from the students’ transcript. We total the math/science credits and we total the quality points for those credits, then divide the number of quality points by the number of math/science credits, which produces your Math/Science GPA. • Prerequisite GPA is calculated in the same manner for DH prerequisite courses only. • Overall GPA is calculated for the combined total of all college/university courses ever taken. A. Admission into any program requires the applicant to meet certain acceptance requirements. A full list of these requirements is available in our course catalog for campuses in the respective state in which you wish to pursue your studies, and for students interested in our online programs. You will also need to submit verification of completion of a high school education or equivalent and participate in an assessment process.
US and Canadian Applicants: To enroll in the M.D. program, you need a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a minimum score of 24 on the MCAT, if you are required to take it. If you are a healthcare professional with five or more years of clinical experience, you still need the bachelor’s degree, but the MCAT requirement may be waived. Your clinical education and healthcare experience indicate that you are capable of doing well in this environment. A science major is not required, but the student should have at least one year of college chemistry. All other countries: The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery) degree, standard in the British Commonwealth and many other countries, requires that a student have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent four-year degree with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a minimum score of 45 on the GAMSAT, if you are required to take it.
