What are the admission requirements for students attending Indian stream schools?
Students need to be enrolled in the science track, even for business administration, since Carnegie Mellon’s business major includes several semesters of calculus-based mathematics. Students in the commerce track should only apply if their coursework has included pure mathematics through pre-calculus (trigonometry and analytic geometry). Note that the selection committee for Carnegie Mellon evaluates both your Standard X and Standard XII (if available) board exam results AND your in-school performance. Admission decisions are not based on test results alone. The SAT or ACT and the TOEFL or IELTS are still required, although the TOEFL or IELTS can be waived if you score 600 or higher on the SAT Critical Reading section or a 26 or higher on both the English and the Reading sections of the ACT.
