What are the additional injuries to the shoulder in a dislocating shoulder?
In middle-aged patients, the rotator cuff is frequently torn along with a dislocation. With each dislocation the front portion of the cup (glenoid) gets eroded and a defect develops in the back portion of the ball (head of humerus) – Hill Sach’s defect. With repeated dislocations, the joint also sustains wear and tear(Osteoarthritis).
