What are the Activated Charcoal Sachets?
A-The Model 100s come with a 6 month supply of “Activated Charcoal Sachets” that are recommended to use if you have unusually odorous or bad tasting source water to begin with. They also help to remove any residual gases contained in water that might make it through the distillation process. Some people refer to these as “filters” but they are very small, (less than a couple inches square), and do not look like regular water filters and work a little differently. They are simply placed in the Sachet Housing that is positioned between the unit outlet and the collection container. We offer additional 12 packs through the store that should last approximately one year.
