What are the academic prerequisites to enroll?
To streamline our enrollment process, we have adopted the same academic prerequisite as your local college or university. NAMC requires candidates to have a Grade 12 (or equivalent) education. Of course, as Montessorians we do realize that having a grade 12 diploma is a far from perfect endorsement that an interested candidate will, or will not be able to work well with children. To enroll in our diploma programs, we require that you meet one of the following criteria: • possess a high school diploma or GED (or foreign) equivalent; or • be granted admission based upon having experience working in an educational capacity; or • be granted admission as a mature student (19 years or older).
