Students appealing to the Academic Review Board must do the following: • Satisfy the punitive period before petitioning the Academic Review Board or present documented evidence of extenuating circumstances which may warrant an early review for readmission (students with an Academic Dismissal status cannot petition the Academic Review Board for an early readmission). • Obtain an Academic Petition Form from the Registrar’s Office (download from the Forms section of the Registrar’s Office page). • Complete Part I of the Academic Petition Form and attach supporting documentation such as support letters, medial statements, obituaries, etc., as necessary. • Request an appointment with department chair/advisor for review of academic status, and approval of petition. • Submit petition to the Registrar’s Office on or before the 15th of April, July, or November. • Return Academic Petition Form to: Office of the Registrar South Carolina State University 1st Floor Moss Hall Post Office Box 8104 Or
