What are the 6 most essential pokemon types to have on a team?
First off, you want your team to have little weaknesses so it’s a good idea to stay away from pokemon loaded with weaknesses (like Fighting/Fire and Psychic/Grass). Steel is always a good type to have and so is Grass or Electric (since Water types are very popular). Electric is preferred because of their speed and because Gyrados, Mantine, Pelipper and more don’t have a grass weakness (unless you use Gravity). Also, Electric pokemon only have one weakness that can be easily compensated for with Magnet Rise (which a lot can learn). Rock types are not that bad either since Rock moves deal supereffective damage to a lot of types. Also, Grass and Water types tend to be quite bulky meaning they have good defenses.
